Keep in mind that at this point, you know your thesis very well and you have committed yourself to a theme so the outline needs to come from your head and not from your thesis. The order for the outline and writing of an experiment, theory paper, case or practitioner is the following:
If you have not found your theme or are having some problems with it then this section may help your clarify your thinking around your theme. You will be choosing the type of article that you wish to write first. Again there are more than one articles and types of articles in your thesis so what does your theme call out for as a way to teach others.
You are about to start an amazing journey from thesis to publication. I will not tell you that the road will be smooth for many of you. There will be rivers to cross and mountains to climb but the first time that you see your work in print will be exhilarating!
Just remember in this case the road to success is persistence in the face of obstacles.your book until you have at least become noticed as a person who knows something about this field so that your work will be used in classrooms or as a resource for practitioners.
Throughout the last couple of articles, you have been thinking about potential journals. If you didn’t make a list while looking at the literature or reviewing your dissertation, begin that list now. Carefully review your references and see what journals these authors used. Notice in the literature what journals particularly are interested in the same topics as your theme. These are the journals that you need to begin exploring.
You have read your thesis in the last week and made some notes so you are very familiar with what you said and what you feel is important. It is now time to narrow down your paper to a size that can go to an editor for publication. Right now you have a document that could be 200-500 pages (some more some less). You have to get it down to 25 double spaced pages of content (no references, abstract or figures).
